WHY: San Diego Unified is kicking off its second annual Anti-Vaping Campaign Contest. Students across the district will create powerful messages to raise awareness about the dangers of vaping, the importance of mental health, and the benefits of living substance-free.
The campaign empowers young people to use their creativity, voices, and lived experiences to influence their peers and shape a healthier future. It also directly supports San Diego Unified’s Student Achievement Goal #1 Student Wellness, by encouraging students to make positive choices that strengthen both physical and mental health. Students have until December 19 to submit their PSA entries using this link.
WHEN:

WHERE: Virtual via Microsoft Teams.
INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: Sabrina Bazzo, Board Trustee, Alina Nguyen, Student Board Member and Ashley Ordaz, Student Board Member.
BACKGROUND: The initiative, launched in 2024, is partially funded by the Juul settlement funds, with additional support available through a California Department of Education Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) grant.
