SPECIAL BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING TODAY
The Board of Education meets today to discuss district leadership and budget issues.
The 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. sessions are open to the public and will be held in the at the Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal Street.
The special public meeting begins at 2 p.m. to discuss alternative leadership models for the district, including a review of how other school districts are governed. This meeting will be held in Room 2226 of the Education Center. For backup material on this item, go to:
At 5 p.m., the Board will convene in another budget workshop, reviewing priority based budgeting, issues with the current fiscal year and projections for the 2010-11 school year, which may result in a cut in as much as $200 million in state funding. In addition, the Board has scheduled a closed session for 10 a.m. today. This meeting is not open to the public.
