20 -- Middle School Instrumental Honor Concert, 7 p.m., Point Loma Nazarene

the best musicians from middle schools throughout the San Diego Unified

20-27 -- San Diego Science Festival, various locations and times. San
Diego's largest celebration of science returns to offer thousands of
students and their families the opportunity to excite their minds. In
addition to year-round K-12 programs, the 2010 event will bring a week of
science activities and exploration to San Diego County with hundreds of free
events. Culminates in Expo Day at PETCO Park on March 27. Contact: Judy

* 22 -- Carson Family Field Grand Opening, 8:30 a.m., Carson Elementary,
6905 Kramer St., CA (92111). Carson Elementary School is excited to invite
our families, neighbors and community members to the opening of Carson
Family Field! We now have a beautiful green grass play area surrounded by
shade trees, several seating areas, and water fountains. During school hours
Carson Elementary students will use the field for Physical Education class,
recess and other school events; after school hours and on weekends, our
neighborhood families are encouraged to come and enjoy the new field for
picnics and games with their neighbors and friends.
* 23 -- Powwow Workshop with the Soaring Eagles, 6 p.m., Ballard Parent
Center, 2375 Congress St.Enjoy free potluck supper and practice for Soaring
Eagles student dance troupe, and pitch in to help the children learn
history, heritage and performance lessons. Part of Parent Outreach's
American Indian Education Program, workshops are free and open to public.

24 -- State of the District Address by Board President Richard Barrera, 6

President Barrera will deliver an address on the 2010 San Diego Unified
