DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS DROPOUT DATA
WHAT: Nellie Meyer, Deputy Superintendent -- Academics, and Ron Rode, Executive Director, Office of Accountability, available to discuss dropout data release by the state Department of Education.
WHEN/WHERE: 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal St. (92103).
BACKGROUND: The California Department of Education is scheduled to release high school dropout data at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11. From 11 a.m. to noon, Dr. Meyer will be available to discuss San Diego Unified's results and what is being done to reduce the number of students leaving school without a diploma. The statewide information will be posted on the education department's website at www.cde.ca.gov.
