Multiple Schools To Operate On Minimum-Day Schedules Due To Heat
The San Diego Unified School District will implement minimum-day schedules at multiple schools tomorrow, October 23, due to an excessive heat forecast.

The safety and well-being of students and staff is a top priority for the district. We want to make sure they are as comfortable as possible so teaching and learning can continue. As a result, our schools have a number of guidelines in place for planning instruction during hot weather.
Schools on regular schedules are expected to operate under our Hot Weather Plan guidelines. Schools are selected for minimum-day schedules based on several factors, including the availability of air-conditioning, forecast of high temperatures, humidity and the heat index, as outlined in the Hot Weather Plan guidelines.
The district will closely monitor forecasted conditions for Tuesday and will notify families and staff as soon as possible the status of Tuesday's plan.
