Superintendent Cindy Marten will participate in a the 1st annual Women of Influence build-in that will benefit San Diego Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program. Women of Influence build because they believe everyone deserves a decent place to live, every parent wants a better future for their family and every child deserves to live in stability. Tuesday 5/1 – 12:20 p.m. – San Diego Unified Celebrates College Signing Day 2018 at Lincoln High School Joining Former First Lady Michelle Obama and Other Student Celebrations Across the Nation
The College and Career Center at Lincoln High School will celebrate College Signing Day at lunch time, honoring all graduating seniors who will attend college in the fall. College Signing Day is a nationally recognized event created by former First Lady Michelle Obama under her Reach Higher initiative. This national event celebrates high school seniors choosing to pursue higher education at a professional training program, a community college, a four-year college or university, or the military. Lincoln High School will host its own event locally in conjunction with the many College Signing Day events around the nation. Students around the country are encouraged to take a selfie in their college shirt using the #CollegeSigningDay and #BetterMakeRoom "Hosting our inaugural College Signing Day is a valuable opportunity for our graduating seniors to publically celebrate their accomplishments along with the school's entire student body, faculty, staff, parents and the community," said Lincoln Principal Jose Soto-Ramos. **MUST CONFIRM COVERAGE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL**

Join Golden Hill k-8 as they host their 2nd annual Cinco De Mayo festival in celebration of their dual-language immersion program. Golden Hill is honoring their diversity and commitment to bi-literate instruction in English and Spanish, by hosting an engaging and inspiring multi-cultural event that will feature, food vendors, student performances, traditional Mexican dancing and entertainment, mariachi and more. The festival is free and open to the public. Golden Hill k-8 proudly graduates students with the ability to speak, read and write proficiently in two languages, English and Spanish.
