San Diego Unified Provides New Opportunities for Students to Engage with Professional Athletes
ELEVATE28 Lacrosse Program Launches in San Diego Unified Schools, Presented by UC San Diego Health and the San Diego Seals
WHAT: San Diego Unified School District is inspiring students and showcasing its commitment to providing diverse athletic opportunities by collaborating with the San Diego Seals and UC San Diego Health to bring the ELEVATE28 lacrosse program to middle schools across the city. Students at Roosevelt MS, Pacific Beach MS, Pershing MS, and Marston MS will have the unique chance to engage directly with professional athletes, try out the sport of lacrosse and get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of professional sports. Physical education teachers at each participating school will receive specialized equipment and curriculum to integrate lacrosse into their classes, empowering students to explore new athletic passions. This partnership exemplifies the district's commitment to offering opportunities that inspire and enrich the lives of all students.
WHO: Students from Pacific Beach Middle School, San Diego Seals players, including goalkeeper Chris Origlieri, forward Jake Govett and transition player Zack Deaken, the Seals' mascot, Salty, and representatives from UC San Diego Health.
