SD UNIFIED TAKING FIRST STEP TO CHANGING HOW TECHNOLOGY IS USED IN THE CLASSROOM
Initial Actions Could Be Implemented by Start of 2026-27 School Year
WHAT: Press Conference
WHY: San Diego Unified School District leaders will announce details of a resolution to be voted on Tuesday night to better protect students from excessive digital media use in the classroom, and ensure technology is being used in ways that support learning and student wellness.
The resolution titled Learner-Centered Technology Use that Prioritizes Student Learning, Safety, and Wellness, is the first step in a year-long, collaborative process to transition how San Diego Unified schools use technology in the classroom. The changes will begin with some immediate actions that will be implemented by August 10, the first day of the 2026-27 school year.
