SATURDAY SD UNIFIED STUDENTS CAN CLAIM COLLEGE FUNDS AT SPRING MONEY FESTIVAL
WHAT: San Diego Unified School District Students Can Secure Money for College
WHY: San Diego Unified is hosting its second CalKIDS Money Festival “Spring Money Fling” after the success of last fall's Money Festival that helped more than 100 families access upwards of $53,000 in college funds. At this event, families can claim state-provided college savings funds already earmarked for their children and information about additional educational funding opportunities, and expert guidance along with direct assistance with CalKIDS registration.
CalKIDS, launched in 2022, automatically provides seed deposits and financial incentives for eligible California children for college. Students in 2nd through 12th grades who meet specific criteria can access significant benefits, including $1,500 for foster youth and homeless students.
WHEN: Saturday, March 22, 2025, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

OTHER EVENT RESOURCES: Translation services, access to comprehensive family resources, free family fun, music, a car show, activities, food and more. Free refreshments available while supplies last.
VISUAL OPPORTUNITIES: Families receiving assistance with registration, community resource fair, educational activities, car show, live music performances and family fun activities.
