Scripps Ranch High School breaks ground on Sustainable Technologies Facility
What: Groundbreaking Ceremony for Sustainable Technologies Facility at Scripps Ranch High School
The Sustainable Technologies Facility, a College, Career & Technical Education (CCTE) project funded by California Proposition 1D and local Proposition S bond funds, will house an innovative program that CCTE and Scripps Ranch High School are developing to focus on renewable technologies. This facility represents a nearly $6.4 million investment into Scripps Ranch High School and the Scripps Ranch community.
The Sustainable Technologies Program is a unique CCTE program that will encompass four emerging, high-growth industry sectors including building trades and construction, engineering and design, transportation, and power and utilities. Instruction will focus on areas such as green construction, renewable energy and utilities, alternative fuels, clean transportation, and innovative engineering and design.
When: Wednesday, Aug. 17, 4-6 p. m.
Where: Scripps Ranch High School, 10410 Treena Street, San Diego, CA 92131 (The construction site is located on the west side of Treena Street, directly across from the school office.) Directions: From Interstate 15, exit Mira Mesa Boulevard; turn right (east) to Scripps Ranch Boulevard; right (south) to Scripps Lake Drive; right (west) to Treena Street

Background: On November 4, 2008, nearly 69 percent of the voters in San Diego passed the $2.1 billion general obligation bond measure, Proposition S, so that San Diego Unified School District could repair, renovate and revitalize its neighborhood schools.
