Town Hall Addresses STEM Education Programs and Student Preparation for the 21st- Century Economy
WHAT: Assemblymember Tony Thurmond (D-Richmond), Chair of the California State Assembly Select Committee on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education, will be leading a conversation about STEM curriculum, workforce development programs, and the best ways to prepare our students for the 21st- century economy. The town hall will be hosted by the San Diego Unified School District and will include educators, students, business partners and other private sector leaders. The event will help shine a light on the increasingly relevant STEM courses and high-tech maker spaces that prepare students throughout San Diego Unified for college and career.
