OPTAVIA's Healthy Habits For All Initiative Supports San Diego Unified's Commitment to Student Wellness

An expected 100 local volunteers will empower generations to create healthy habits

WHAT: OPTAVIA®, a fast-growing, energized community of independent Coaches who support Clients on their path to optimal health and wellbeing, is hosting a global week of service — Healthy Habits For All Week — designed to empower future generations to adopt healthy habits.

From Monday, September 9 through Sunday, September 15, 2019, OPTAVIA expects thousands of Coaches, volunteers and many corporate employees to join forces and invest in the health and wellness of their local communities.

As part of Healthy Habits For All Week, OPTAVIA is partnering with nonprofit organizations with the goal of empowering children and families to adopt healthy habits.

An expected 100 local volunteers will makeover San Diego High School's wellness rooms, beautify the exterior of the campus by planting vegetable and herb gardens and facilitate activities that encourage healthy motion with students.

The partnership aligns with San Diego High School's Wellness Policy, put in place by the San Diego Unified School District's Wellness Initiative. San Diego Unified acknowledges the strong relationship between students' health and learning, and has implemented Wellness Policies at every school within the district. These policies support the health and well-being of more than 100,000 students, 10,000 staff members and families in San Diego.

The success of the District Wellness Initiative is the result of meaningful collaborations between district staff, students, families and community partners like OPTAVIA. Together, they are making great strides in creating a culture of well-being in the local community.

WHERE: San Diego High School, 1405 Park Blvd.

San Diego CA 92101
