Minimum day planned for majority of San Diego Unified Schools due to extended heat wave
DETAILS: San Diego Unified is implementing a second day of minimum day schedules at the majority of its schools (See list) on Tuesday, Sept. 16, due to the continued heat wave. The National Weather Services has extended its heat advisory through 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16. (See the latest regional advisory here) Schools operating on regular day schedule (see list) are expected to continue to operate under our Hot Weather Plan guidelines.

Transportation schedules are being adjusted to accommodate the minimum day schedules. The PrimeTime program will remain in place. The district is also partnering with the YMCA to provide after-school options for affected schools.
