Lincoln High School Lockdown Lifted

March 15, 2022

At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, Lincoln High School was placed into lockdown after campus administrators reported that a student was in possession of a firearm in the administration building.

School Police and San Diego Police Officers responded immediately, and the building was evacuated. At about 3:30 p.m. the student was taken into custody by San Diego Police after a non-lethal bean bag was deployed. A ghost gun, a firearm without a serial number, was recovered.

Students and staff remained safe during the incident. Lockdown was lifted at about 3:50 p.m., and students were dismissed from classes.

Counselors will be available to support students and staff members this week. San Diego Unified has made addressing and preventing gun violence a priority as part of ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of students, staff, and San Diego community as a whole.
