SAN DIEGO – San Diego journalists are invited to participate in the latest installment of ED Talks, which will focus on Community Schools in San Diego Unified School District. Learn more about this innovative and targeted approach to supporting school communities by addressing their unique needs. Hear from students, educators, families and community partners who have directly benefited from the Community School approach in San Diego Unified. See aspects of a Community School in action with the Hoover High School food pantry.

WHO: Representatives from the district and Feeding San Diego, students and families positively impacted from the Community Schools model
VISUALS: One-on-one interview opportunities with district leaders, program operators, student, family and community partners; tour of active school food pantry
BACKGROUND: ED Talks is an occasional series that features educators and community partners who care about education hosted. ED Talks is hosted by the San Diego Unified School District Communications Department in collaboration with the San Diego Press Club. Professional journalists will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in the conversation. The goal is to foster robust conversations about public education.
