Award-winning Film Director and Education Entrepreneur Lord David Puttnam Visits iMiddle
Independent producer of award-winning films Lord David Puttnam will tour Innovation Middle (iMiddle) School on Monday, March 11.

During his visit, he will visit Integrated 21st Century (i21) Interactive classrooms, engaging and personalized learning environments designed to optimize teaching and learning through the interconnected use of mobile computing, audio, visual and formative assessment technologies across the curriculum.
Reporters are invited to join us on the school tour to see first-hand how students and teachers are using technology in their daily activities. Following the tour, reporters will be invited to a conversation with Lord Puttnam and a special demonstration of The Parent Connection, a new school-to-classroom daily communication recently introduced in San Diego Unified School District.

About Lord Puttnam

Lord Puttnam's films include The Mission, The Killing Fields, Local Hero, Chariots of Fire, Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone and Memphis Belle. He retired from film production in 1998 to focus on his work in public policy as it relates to education, the environment, and 'creative and communications' industries. He founded the national Teaching Awards in 1998, and served as first Chair of the General Teaching Council 2000-2002. He was President of UNICEF UK 2002-2009 and Deputy Chairman of Channel 4 Television 2006-2012.

He is chairman of Atticus Education, an online education company he founded to deliver interactive seminars on film and a variety of other subjects to educational institutions around the world. He is also Chair of the TSL Advisory Board, Chancellor of the Open University, President of the Film Distributors' Association, Deputy Chairman of Profero and a trustee of the Eden Project. He was recently appointed Prime Minister's Trade Envoy Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia.
