*23 -- Civic Learning Award of Distinction Award Ceremony, 10 a.m., Pacific Beach Middle School Library/Media Center and Auditorium, 4676 Ingraham St., 92109. Associate Justice from the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Joan K. Irion, will visit the school to present the California Civic Learning Award of Distinction. PB Middle was one of six schools in California selected to receive the award, the second highest honor for the Civic Learning Awards. The Class of 2016 for the San Diego Unified School District Adult School is holding its graduation ceremony. Richard Barrera, Board of Education Vice President, is scheduled to officiate.
