In preparation for Wednesday’s demonstration at Patrick Henry High, students are encouraging their fellow students to wear black on March 14; put their thumb print on a poster as a sign they will take action; sign a banner they will send to students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High; and create a poster for themselves to carry during the demonstration. Tuesday through Thursday, students are also making available during lunchtime mental health resources and elected official contact information, as well as information on voter registration. Participation in these activities is optional. All students have the choice to remain in class under supervision, go to the cafeteria where they may observe 17 minutes of silence, or participate.
Students at other district schools are planning similar events. Contact Communications Director Maureen Magee for other locations.
Please check in at the main office before proceeding to the quad area. We also request that you confirm your attendance with Maureen.
