Tuesday 5/8 – 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. San Diego Unified 2018 Day of the Teacher Celebration
The Day of the Teacher event honors three outstanding educators who have been named San Diego Unified Teachers of the Year at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 2018. This year's winners are: Georgeanne Gedney, Early Childhood Special Education, Linda Vista Elementary School, Sara Dickman, grades 6-8 dance, Creative Performing Media Arts Middle School, Lynsey Littlefield, Special Education Mild/Mod/Grade 9 English/ASB Advisor, Mission Bay High. 4:30-4:50 p.m.: Culinary students from Madison and Morse high schools prepare and serve food during the reception. 4:30-4:50 p.m.: The Gypsy Jazz Quartet from Mission Bay High School will provide music at the reception. 5 p.m.: Middle school dancers from Creative Performing Media Arts (CPMA) will kick off the ceremony. Their teacher, Sara Dickman, is the 2018 Middle School Teacher of the Year honoree. Downloadable bios, still and video located at link below.

Saturday 5/12 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Linda Vista STEAM Fair
The fair will be a collection of challenges, exhibits, activities and educational opportunities that bring STEAM/STEM to life through our designated theme of water. The fair is also hosting an E-Waste recycle center supported by Urban Corp. A website has been created to provide more information about the event. www.lvsmpf.com<http://www.lvsmpf.com/>. The Linda Vista STEAM Magnet Pathway Fair is a free public event created to engage the community in STEAM/STEM related experiences while showcasing the Linda Vista STEAM Pathway (Transitional Kindergarten through High School) which consists of Carson Elementary STEAM Magnet, Linda Vista STEAM Magnet School, Montgomery Middle STEAM Magnet and the Kearny High Educational Complex.
