Through 14 -- Summer Intensive, San Diego School of Creative and Performing
Arts (SCPA), 2425 Dusk Drive (92139). Two-week program for advancing high
school students interested developing their chosen arts discipline; taught
by SCPA faculty and Master Artists from San Diego and Los Angeles. Contact:

Academy is all about. Who are we? What is online learning? What is

19 -- iHigh Virtual Academy Open House at Mt Everest campus, 1-2 p.m., Mt.

20 – Military Family Back to School Fair, 3:30-6:30 p.m., Farb Middle
School, 4880 La Cuenta Dr. (92124). Navy and Marine Corps family support is
joining with San Diego Unified and a variety of local military-child support
groups for the Welcome, Enrollment and Resource Fair. It's especially for

active military families only.

22 -- Sixth Annual New ERAA Conference for Parents and Students, 8 a.m. to
12:30 p.m., Lincoln High School, 4777 Imperial Avenue (92113). The New
Everybody Recommitting to Academic Achievement (ERAA) Conference is
co-sponsored by San Diego Unified, several community groups and volunteers
with a goal to have parents and students become more knowledgeable,

registration. Returning students or those matriculating from lower grades do
not need to register.

citizens' advisory group authorized to consider proposals and develop
recommendations relative to the use and disposition of excess real property

* 2 – Back-To-School Barbecue, noon, Dewey Elementary School, 3251 Rosecrans
St. (92110). School welcomes back its military families with tours, fun and
good food. Kids, moms, dads and guardians of all ages are invited. Contact:

7 -- Labor Day. All schools and offices closed.

8 – First Day of Classes for 2009-10 School Year. Note: Media are invited to
Roosevelt Middle School, 3366 Park Blvd. (92103), for first-day of school
