BACKGROUND: The Proposition 39 K-12 Program, which the California Energy Commission administers, helps schools improve energy efficiency and expand clean energy generation at schools. Proposition 39 is a voter approved initiative, approved by California voters in the November 2012 general election. The district's Energy Utilities Program team works with the California Energy Commission (CEC) to obtain Proposition 39 funds. These funds pay for the district's Energy Utilities staff and energy projects.
