BACKGROUND: The mission of HandsOn San Diego is to strengthen communities through volunteer action, leadership development and serving students. Ben & Jerry’s philosophy that business has a responsibility to give back to the community fits hand in hand with San Diego Unified’s mission to build a #BetterSD through education, collaboration and community engagement. San Diego Unified works with community and business partners locally and nationwide to help support students, families, teachers and schools throughout the district. Ben & Jerry’s founders will be in San Diego with more than 400 members of the franchise community to beautify portions of the school, including renovations to two gardens. To celebrate the completion of the beautification project, students and families will be treated to an ice cream social, which will include healthy-size servings of Ben & Jerry’s sorbet, dairy-free frozen dessert, and ice cream.
Please confirm attendance in advance by calling 619-725-5578.
