With Singers, Ribbon, and Running, Marvin Elementary School to Celebrate First Completed Joint-Use Field of the New Year
WHAT:
Choir students, school staff, and families will join district and city leaders to celebrate the first completed joint-use field of the new year. Fourth-grade and fifth-grade vocalists will kick off the event, followed by a brief speaking ceremony. Then, students will cut the ribbon, followed by a ceremonial run around the new field.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Marvin Elementary School joint-use field includes a new grass playfield, a walking/running path, a drinking fountain, security gates, irrigation, fencing, and a new parking lot. As part of the Play All Day partnership with the City of San Diego, the joint-use field will be accessible to the community as a local park after school hours, and during school breaks.
BACKGROUND:
San Diego Unified’s capital projects are funded by San Diego Unified School District’s Propositions S and Z, which are local bond measures approved by San Diego voters to repair, renovate and revitalize neighborhood schools.
PARKING:
