San Diego Unified and Intuit to Unveil First Student-Run Food Truck Program
Program to empower high school students with financial, technical and entrepreneurial skills

WHAT: Media partners are invited to capture the unveiling of San Diego Unified School District’s first student-designed and operated food truck.
Intuit, the maker of Intuit TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, is providing San Diego Unified with a fully operational food truck, equipped with a commercial-grade kitchen, allowing college, career and technical education (CCTE) students to develop technical, financial, and entrepreneurial skills needed to run a business.
During its inaugural year, Morse, San Diego, Mira Mesa, Hoover and Garfield high school students in multiple career pathways will gain hands-on learning experiences managing the roving culinary business.

BACKGROUND: The Intuit food truck program is a work-based learning program offered by Intuit to help CCTE students develop technical, financial, and entrepreneurial skills necessary to run a business. In partnership with multiple district CCTE pathway programs, Intuit donates a state-of-the-art food truck, offers supporting grants, curriculum, and Intuit products to prepare students for real-world experiences.
