SAN DIEGO UNIFIED TO PROVIDE UPDATE ON EFFORTS TO PROTECT STUDENTS FROM PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S ACTIONS AGAINST IMMIGRANTS & OTHERS
WHAT: Press Conference
WHY: San Diego Unified School District officials on Thursday, June 5 will provide the media with a progress report on its efforts to protect students from the actions taken by President Donald Trump and other federal agencies. In December, prior to President Trump taking office for the second time, San Diego Unified took proactive steps to prepare educators for the possibility of ICE agents visiting schools, gave students and parents access to resources to better know their rights, and reaffirmed its commitment to being a Welcoming District for all. District leaders will also discuss steps they have taken to help students navigate politically charged differences with their peers.
