22 -- Ocean Beach Elementary 100th Birthday Spring Fling, 5-8 p.m., Ocean
Beach Elementary School, 4741 Santa Monica Ave. (92107). Celebrating a
century of education at the beach, the Spring Fling has music, food, silent

22 -- Hearst 50th Anniversary School Picnic, 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Phoebe
Hearst Elementary, 6230 Del Cerro Blvd. (92120). Open to all alumni and

23 -- Lincoln High Basketball Banquet, 3-6 p.m., Joe and Vi Jacobs Center at
Market Creek Plaza 404 Euclid Ave. (92114). Join the students, staff and
students and community of Lincoln High School as they honor the Hornet
varsity basketball team―the State CIF Division II Champions―and help raise
money for the program. Tickets: adults, $25, students, $15, with reserved

* 24 -- Advanced Placement Incentive Program End of the Year Showcase,
5-7:30 p.m., House of Blues San Diego, 1055 Fifth Ave. (92101). Selected
students and their parents from the district's Advanced Placement Incentive
Program are honored for their academic achievement. House of Blues for the
second year is donating dinner for students. Mission Bay Dixie Jazz, Madison
Too Cool for School Dance Crew and duet by SDUSD students Shawn Bray and
Cassandra Lopez. Schools involved in the AP Incentive Program are
Clairemont, Crawford, Lincoln, Morse and San Diego high schools, Clark,
CPMA, Correia, Farb, Innovation, Montgomery, Pacific Beach, Taft and Wilson

* 24 -- Fulton School Check Presentation, 1:30-2 p.m., Fulton School, 7055
Skyline Dr. (92114). A.T. Kearney, a global management-consulting firm, will
present a check for $6,000 to the teachers and students of Fulton School to
purchase learning software and books for the classrooms and library. In
addition, the Chicago-based company, which is hosting a global meeting for
its 240 partners in San Diego May 23-25, asked its 54 offices to help create
a global passport for the students at Fulton by providing information and
mementos about each of the cities and countries throughout the A.T. Kearney

* 25 -- Memorial Prep Technology Class for Parents, 9-11 a.m., Memorial Prep
Middle School, 2850 Logan Ave. (92113). All Memorial parents are invited to
learn about the technology that their kids are learning about in school.

* 25 -- Pacific Beach Elementary School Spring Concert, 1 p.m., Pacific

* 26 -- Linda Vista Community Informational Night, 6-8 p.m., Montgomery
Middle School, 2470 Ulric St. (92111). This is an opportunity for parents to
hear from professionals that will answer any questions that is
representative of the needs of the community (immigration rights, legal
services, college admission, AB540, and more). Please do not miss out on

26 -- Author Visit to Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary, 10 a.m., Lindbergh
Schweitzer Elementary School, 4133 Mt. Albertine Ave. (92111). Alex Montoya,
a former student who's now an author and employee of the San Diego Padres,
was directly responsible for removing the fence that used to separate our
two campuses -- Albert Schweitzer School (which is now our East Campus) and
Charles Lindbergh Elementary (which is currently our West Campus). Montoya

* 27 -- PB Elementary Benefit at Surf Diva, 6-8 p.m., Surf Diva, 2160
Avenida de la Playa, La Jolla (92037). Private shopping at the Surf Diva
store in La Jolla with 20 percent of sales going to the Friends of Pacific

27 -- Advisory Committee on the Utilization of Excess School Property, 2
p.m., Physical Plant Operations Annex Conference Room 1, 4860 Ruffner
Street, (92111). Committee advises the Board of Education on excess property

27 -- Proposition S ICOC Finance, Planning and Controls Subcommittee, 4

Subcommittee of the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee for Proposition

27 -- Community Advisory Committee for Special Education (CAC) Executive
Committee, 6:30 p.m., Ballard Parent Center Room 2, 2375 Congress Street,
(92110). Committee monitors issues related to students in special education

2 -- Pacific Beach Middle School Orientation in Spanish, 8 a.m., Pacific
Beach Middle School 4676 Ingraham St. San Diego, CA. If you speak Spanish
and your child(ren) will be new to PB Middle next year please attend this

2 -- Family Wednesday, 9 a.m., Adams Elementary School, 4672 35th St.
(92116). The public is invited to join Adams students and staff in a flag
salute and a song by one of the classrooms, then to meet with Principal
Derek Murchison to hear about upcoming events, learn about school data and
have a question and answer session. Finally, the parents/guardians are sent
to the classrooms from 10-10:30 a.m. to read with the students. Contact:

4 -- Holocaost Survivor at Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary School, 2:15
p.m., Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary School, 4133 Mt. Albertine Ave.
(92111). Holocaust survivor, Gussie Zaks, who lost her entire family in the
camps and was a bunk mate of Anne Frank, will speak to our students about

* 9 -- Pt. Loma High Outstanding History Students Banquet, 6-8 p.m., Bali
Hai Restaurant, 2230 Shelter Island Drive (92106). We honor approximately
200 of our most outstanding history students and their families at this
banquet. Each student who attends will receive a Cross Pen, a certificate of
achievement, and some will receive monetary scholarships for their
outstanding work while studying history at Point Loma High. Contact: Barbara

10 -- Chelsea King Invitational Mile, 2 p.m., Lindbergh Schweitzer
Elementary School, 4133 Mt. Albertine Ave. (92111). In conjunction with the
Chelsea's Light Foundation, the invitational race is being offered to
deserving students throughout the district. The purpose is to honor the
memory of Chelsea and the qualities she stood for: athletic excellence,
academic achievement, and community outreach. Students must register by May

10 -- Community Advisory Committee for Special Education, all day, Standley
Middle School Auditorium, 6298 Radcliffe Drive (92122). General meeting of
committee that monitors issues related to students in special education and

11 -- BIOCOM Partnership Announcement, 10 a.m., Millennial Tech Middle
School, 1110 Carolina Ln. (92102). This partnership will provide science
industry professionals as guest speakers in middle school science classes.

14-15 -- Zamorano Elementary Band and Orchestra Concert, 6 p.m., Zamorano
