Block holds media availability about education budget prior to scheduled town hall on Thursday

SACRAMENTO – Senator Marty Block (SD-39), chair of the State Senate Education Budget Subcommittee, will hold a media availability before and after his education town hall on Thursday, April 18 at University City High School, 6949 Genesee Ave. in San Diego. He will be joined by Edgar Cabral, an analyst with the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office. Cabral will provide an overview of the state education budget during the town hall.

Block is hosting the constituent town hall to hear what his constituents think of Gov. Jerry Brown's education proposals. A key proposal, the "Local Control Funding Formula," would change the way state allocations for school districts and charter schools are distributed.
