Kearny High to unveil new street name 'Komet Way'
WHAT: Kearny High School is changing the name of the street the school is located on from Wellington St. to Komet Way. Students will be unveiling the new "Komet Way" street sign at the corner of Mesa College Dr. and Wellington St. The event kicks off Homecoming Week for Kearny High students.
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 5, 12:45 p.m.
WHERE: The corner of Mesa College Dr. and Wellington St. (92111) near Kearny High School.
DETAILS: To celebrate the opening of its new football stadium this year, Kearny High decided to change the name of the street the school is located on from Wellington St. to Komet Way. The school's ASB students filled out the paperwork and made the request to the city. Those ASB students will be the ones unveiling the new sign and will be available for questions.
