Press Conference - San Diego International Sister Cities To Host First “Balboa Cup” All Stars Soccer Tournament

SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL SISTER CITIES TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL "BALBOA CUP" ALL STARS SOCCER TOURNAMENT

What: The Balboa Cup Sister City All Stars Soccer Tournament between San Diego and Tijuana

 

When: August 13, 2018 at 10 a.m.

 

Where: San Diego-Balboa Stadium (East side), San Diego High School 1450 Russ Blvd. San Diego, CA (Due to the heat, we'll be moving inside a classroom. Please meet us on the East side of the stadium and we'll direct you to the classroom).

 

Event Information:

 

The San Diego Sister Cities International Association will host its first annual international Sister City Soccer Tournament. This tournament will feature boys and girl's teams from San Diego and Tijuana High Schools selected by their coaches. On August 15, the San Diego All Stars will travel to Tijuana at Lazaro Cardenas Federal High School to play at 9 a.m. for the girls and 11:00 for the boys. August 16, Tijuana travels to Balboa Stadium for the Championship. Game times are identical for both days.

 

"This youth sports event is another way that we can break down barriers between people through sport diplomacy," said Dr Mike McQuary, SanDISCA Board Chair and San Diego School Board member.
