New Principal, New Field: Linda Vista Elementary STEAM Magnet Dolphins to Celebrate Healthier Future with Ribbon-Cutting for New Grass Field

 

WHAT:                

The Linda Vista Elementary STEAM Magnet “Dolphins” will join first-year principal, Nina Dixon-Mauricia, and recently-retired principal, Michael Beraud,  in celebrating the completion of a new 223,000 square-foot playfield.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

 

The Linda Vista Elementary joint-use field project includes a new 223,000 square-foot grass field, a walking/running path, a drinking fountain, security gates and fencing. Features include the existing play structure and basketball courts.

BACKGROUND:

 

Capital projects are funded by San Diego Unified’s Propositions S and Z, which are local bond measures approved by San Diego voters to repair, renovate and revitalize neighborhood schools.

 

As part of the Play All Day partnership with the City of San Diego, the joint-use field will be accessible to the community as a local park after school hours and during school breaks. You can read more about the initiative here.
