Gage Elementary Gators to "Bellow" School Chorus, Dedicate New Grass Playfield to Beloved Teacher
WHAT:
Gage Elementary "Gators" will join teachers and families to celebrate the completion of their new, 163,000 square-foot, grass playfield named after former Teacher-of-the-Year, Cindi Elrod, who passed away. During the dedication, City of San Diego Councilmember Scott Sherman will join Superintendent Cindy Marten to present a certificate of commemoration to the family of Cindi Elrod. Topping off the event, students will sing the "Gage Gator" song and then run one lap in honor of Mrs. Elrod and their new playfield. Cindi Elrod's biography can be found here.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Gage Elementary Joint-Use Field field includes a new natural turf field, walking and running path, drinking fountain, security gates, and fencing.
BACKGROUND:
Capital projects are funded by San Diego Unified's Propositions S and Z, which are local bond measures approved by San Diego voters to repair, renovate and revitalize neighborhood schools.
As part of the Play All Day partnership with the City of San Diego, the joint-use field will be accessible to the community as a local park after school hours and during school breaks. PARKING:
Media can enter through the gate on Hudson Drive (they can drive their vehicles in). However, we ask that drivers be mindful there are students that will be in the area.
