San Diego Unified School District to Host 2019 State of the District Address with Special Guest State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond


State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond will join Board of Education President Dr. Sharon Whitehurst-Payne and Superintendent Cindy Marten for the 2019 San Diego Unified School District State of the District Address.

The education leaders will report on the district's accomplishments, outline goals for 2019-20, and discuss their vision for public education.

This year's State of the District Address will feature student exhibitions from schools throughout San Diego Unified during the reception, which will also include entertainment from Lincoln High School and Crown Point Jr. Music Academy.

Light appetizers, refreshments and desserts provided courtesy of Food and Nutrition Services.
