San Diego Unified Emphasizes the Five Essential Elements of Well-Being at Employee Wellness Festival
September 12, 2023
SAN DIEGO - For the second year, San Diego Unified School District is hosting a wellness festival for district staff. Following the five essential elements of well-being as defined by Gallup, employees are invited to explore the various resources available to them regarding their physical, financial, career, social and community well-being.
“Focusing on the overall health and well-being of our staff is an important part of creating environments for our students to thrive,” Deputy Superintendent Dr. Fabiola Bagula said. “When the adults who care for our students feel supported and loved, they are better able to serve the needs of students.”
District staff in attendance can receive free biometric health screenings, take part in mindfulness activities, and browse the resource fair featuring local wellness service providers, shops, and vendors. Employees can also explore career paths and professional development opportunities, as well as financial wellness and retirement planning resources.
Community partners will be on hand to explain benefits available to district employees, including VEBA, Schools First Credit Union, North Island Credit Union, San Diego County Credit Union, and CalCoast Credit Union.
