WHAT: High school juniors touring San Diego State University, organized and led by Board of Education Student Trustee Blessyn Lavender Williams
WHEN: Monday, April 29, 8 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Best time for media interviews/tour between 9:30-11:30 a.m.

BACKGROUND: In an effort to help expose more students to higher education, Trustee Lavender Williams has organized a tour of SDSU. Many of the approximately 100 students who will take part in a customized tour have never visited a college campus. In conjunction with the Young and Prosperous Foundation, San Diego Unified students will gain valuable information about the admissions process, academics, financial aid, housing and residential life, history, and extracurricular activities available at SDSU.
The mission of the Young and Prosperous Foundation is to provide resources to youth, promote social justice, equality, personal growth and educational development in underserved communities.
