U.S. Rep. Peters, San Diego Unified, EPA Present ED Talks
Collaboration to Advance Environmental Justice Through the EPA's $12 Million Clean School Bus Grant

SAN DIEGO—San Diego journalists are invited to participate in the latest installment of ED Talks, which will focus on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) $12.4 million grant awarded to the San Diego Unified School District for the purchase of 30 clean school buses. The grant was funded by the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

On January 8, 2024, the EPA announced the Clean School Bus Grant Program<https://www.epa.gov/cleanschoolbus/clean-school-bus-program-awards> award that will allow the district to swap out 30 diesel school buses for 30 zero-emission school buses. The collaborative work among government agencies will improve the health and environment of students, educators, and staff. This forum occurs during Earth Week and underscores the district's commitment to sustainability.

ED Talks is hosted by the San Diego Unified School District Communications Department in collaboration with the San Diego Press Club. Professional journalists will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a conversation. The goal is to foster robust discussions about public education.
