Part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness to prevent bullying by

5 -- Magnet Monday at schools throughout the district. San Diego Unified¹s

Unified School District schools, including the following elementary schools:

* 9 -- Volunteer Spotlight News Conference, 10 a.m., Spreckels Elementary

Unified's "Year of the Volunteer." Media members will be able to visit
classrooms, talk with volunteers, photograph and interview students.

10 -- BeachFest with participation by Mission Bay High School and Pacific
Beach Middle School, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Pacific Beach Boardwalk from

15 -- Statewide Earthquake Drill Set with Participation by San Diego Unified
schools, 10:15 a.m. San Diego Unified will join millions of Californians and
participate in the 2009 Shake-out Earthquake Drill. Students, staff and
visitors at both schools and central office work sites will practice ³Drop,
Cover and Hold On² and other aspects of site emergency plans. For
