16 -- Efficiency Committee Tiger Team joint meeting, 1 p.m., Ballard Parent
Center, 2375 Congress St. Joint meeting with all Efficiency Committee Tiger
Teams (Human Resources, Information Technology, Special Education,
Transportation). The existing individual Tiger Teams will present their
final reports and at 2:30 p.m. new Tiger Teams will be formed. An RSVP is

* 18-20 -- 2011-12 Layoff List Appeal Hearings for Certificated Staff, 9
a.m., Kearny High Educational Complex, 7651 Wellington St. (92111).
Administrative law judge will hear from certificated staff members appealing
their position or inclusion on a list of employees which received notices
that they may not have a contract offer for the 2011-12 school year due to

* 18 -- Safe Passage Program News Conference, 10:30 a.m., Bell Middle
School, 620 Briarwood Rd. (92139). Community leaders, elected officials and
students gather for start of canyon clearing program that creates jobs and

* 20 -- Spring Fun Café barbecue, 1-2 p.m., Cherokee Point Elementary, 3735
38th St. (92105). Free barbecue for parents and kids, part of the Spring Fun
Café program which provides free lunches in the park for students on
year-round school schedule (SDUSD year-round schools are on vacation through
May 2). Breakfast is offered at two locations, lunch at 17. For a complete

26 -- Bridging the Digital Divide: What Parents Need to Know, 6:45 p.m.,

event provides parents and adults with the necessary tools and resources to

Open to the public.

partner Clairemont Public Library for the evening, which celebrates language

20 -- Pt. Loma High Rhapsody on the Point 2011, Humphreys, 2241 Shelter
Island Drive San Diego, CA 92106. Annual music show featuring performances
by students from schools throughout Pt. Loma. The musicians will be joined
by San Diegan Kristina Goettler, Principal Oboe player for the Kansas City
Symphony, for the fourth annual Rhapsody on the Point, an evening of
beautiful music and a pivotal fundraiser for the Point Loma High
instrumental music program. The evening will also honor The Thursday Club, a
local philanthropic organization whose mission includes music and arts
education. General Admission and premium Cabaret table seating is available

Tuesday: Powwow Workshop Soaring Eagles, 6 p.m. Ballard Parent Center, 2375
Congress Ave. (92110). Enjoy free potluck supper and practice for Soaring
Eagles student dance troupe, and pitch in to help the children learn
history, heritage and performance lessons. Part of Parent Outreach's

Wednesday: Adams Avenue Farmers Market, 3- 7 p.m., Adams Elementary School
playground, 4672 35th Street, San Diego (92116). The Adams Avenue Business
Association coordinates the Farmers Market. A percentage of the proceeds go
to Adams Elementary for fieldtrips and to maintain the school garden.
