The Energy Challenge invited San Diegans to save energy and at the same

$10,000 grant.

experts to give students a hands-on look at cutting edge technology. The
school's student body president and principal will be presenting SDG&E
officials with a "wish list" of materials they could purchase with the
$10,000 prize. All students will be available to photograph and interview,
along with the principal, the school's "team captain" who has been
rounding up residents to save energy and support PB Middle, as well as
staff from SDG&E.

BACKGROUND: Only three weeks remain until the challenge wraps up on Nov.
30, and San Diego Energy Challenge participants still have the chance to
earn individual prizes, such as gift cards and tablets, and help their
local SDUSD middle school compete for a chance to win a cash grant. The
top school will win a cash grant of $10,000 and several additional schools
will split different increments of an additional $20,000.
