COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO SCHOOL VIOLENCE TO BE DISCUSSED BY BOARD OF
EDUCATION PRESIDENT

WHAT: News conference to discuss resolution advocating a comprehensive
approach to school violence. The resolution is scheduled to be considered
by the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education at its meeting
at 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 22.

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, Eugene Brucker Education Center,
4100 Normal St. (92103)

DETAILS: Dr. John Lee Evans, President of the Board of Education, San
Diego Unified School District, will discuss a proposed district resolution
advocating a comprehensive approach to curbing mass gun-violence. Dr.
Evans, a clinical psychologist, has worked with the San Diego
Psychological Association to secure assistance in training teachers and
counselors with skills to screen and identify individuals with potential
violent tendencies or signs of isolation that could signal a need for
intervention.

SPEAKERS: Dr. John Lee Evans, President, Board of Education; Chief Reuben
Littlejohn, San Diego Unified School District Police Department.
