SHAKE OUT SAN DIEGO: STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE WHAT TO DO DURING NATIONWIDE
EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Local Experts Remind San Diegans to Practice, Plan for Quakes

WHAT: People living in earthquake prone areas like the San Diego region
need to be prepared and know what to do during an earthquake. If your

the Drop, Cover, Hold on technique, the safest response to an earthquake.

820,000 San
Diegans registered to participate in the earthquake drill. Worldwide, more
than 9.4 million people have joined the drill.

Local experts in geology, fire and preparedness will be available for
interviews about the potential for San Diego earthquakes and the fire
danger that occurs after a quake. The fire chiefs will walk through a
campus with school administrator to show how to mitigate this danger after
an earthquake.

official time of 10:17 a.m. is during a class passing period.
