PROJECT INFO: Construction began on the renovation project during the summer and was completed in September. The project included replacing the existing natural grass baseball field with synthetic turf and reconstructing the bull-pen areas, installing a new centerfield fence with access gates and wind screen, utility upgrades and field logos. A brown turf strip was installed along the outside of the baseball field, so the middle school students have a designated running track for PE classes.

The total construction costs were $1,521,204. The funding source was Proposition Z, San Diego Unified's
bond measure that was passed by San Diego voters in 2012 to renovate, repair and revitalize district schools.
