True Blue Buddies Event Partners School Police Officers with Elementary Students for Back-to-School Shopping Spree
WHAT: The first-ever True Blue Buddies event will pair 30 students from Walker Elementary School with School Police Officers for a back-to-school shopping spree at Target and post-shopping barbecue. Third, fourth and fifth grade students from the Mira Mesa neighborhood school will receive a $100 Target gift card to spend on new clothes and shoes to start off the new school in style. The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Each student will be partnered with a member of the San Diego Unified School Police Services. Students were invited to participate based on need, including low income and homelessness.
