High School Students Preparing World's Fastest Electric Car for New Land Speed Record Attempt

WHAT: Students from Madison High School's automotive technology program will be working on the world's fastest electric car alongside leading engineers this week, as they prepare to seek a new land speed record<https://www.autoweek.com/racing/more-racing/a1709196/team-vesco-hits-503-mph-bonneville-salt-flats/> later this year. Students will be inserting the electric motors that power "Little Giant," which last year set the world record for an electric car at 353 miles per hour, with guidance from Team Vesco mechanics and staff from Revolt Systems, a new San Diego-based electric vehicle engineering company.
Students, instructors, members of Team Vesco, and Revolt founder Eddy Borysewicz will be available for interviews.

BACKGROUND: San Diego Unified staff recently connected Team Vesco and Revolt Systems with the automotive program at Madison to learn more about electric vehicle (EV) technology. As a result of the partnership, students in the program have actually been able to work in their auto shop on the Little Giant vehicle, which currently holds the world speed record for an electric car. Engineers, automotive enthusiasts, and companies across the world will be watching this vehicle as it attempts to set a new world record at the 2022 World Finals in Bonneville, Utah this summer.
