BACKGROUND:

The Marston Middle School Whole Site Modernization project will transform the Marston campus with campuswide improvements, including construction of a new gymnasium and a joint-use grass playfield.

Campuswide improvements include modernization of existing classrooms and restrooms, renovations to the student services, food services, and physical education buildings, and additional security fencing and enhancements.

A new parking lot with student campus access from a new pick-up and drop-off area will also be created.

The gymnasium will feature a main entrance lobby, basketball, volleyball, and badminton striping with six retractable basketball backboards.

The joint-use field will incorporate a walking/running track, a sprint track, long jump area and newly planted trees. As part of the Play All Day partnership with the City of San Diego, the joint-use field will be accessible to the community as a local park after school hours and during school breaks.

The project is estimated to complete in late 2024. You can read more about the project at http://fpcprojects.sandi.net
