WHAT: Ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the San Diego Unified School District and San Diego State University guaranteeing admission to the university for qualifying Hoover High School students through the Class of 2028, and details of updated eligibility requirements.

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: San Diego Unified and San Diego State leaders, Hoover High School graduates who have gone through the program, representatives from Price Philanthropies Foundation.
BACKGROUND: First established for the Hoover High Class of 2011 and known as the College Avenue Compact, hundreds of Hoover graduates have secured their spot at San Diego State through the guaranteed admissions agreement. Helping those students along the way is a support program, funded by Price Philanthropies Foundation, called Avenues for Success (AFS). Just some of the resources provided by AFS include college advising, planning and visits, financial aid support, career exploration, and workshops for students and families.
