For the second year in a row, San Diego Unified educators are harnessing the excitement of Comic-Con to pioneer innovative educational practices that prepare students for future success

 

WHAT: Meet San Diego Unified educators who are pushing the boundaries, empowering students to dream big and achieve their goals. San Diego Unified’s participation at Comic-Con is a testament to their commitment to providing innovative and inclusive education, ensuring every student has the tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.

 

Panel 1: Developing Future Talent for Careers in Entertainment

Teachers will learn about San Diego's first-ever International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) registered apprenticeship program, and discover how educators, employers, and labor partners collaborate to bridge skill gaps and create sustainable career opportunities in entertainment. Featured San Diego Unified Panelist: Tom Antl, Arts, Media, and Entertainment Coordinator.

Learn about the Comic-Con Educator Book Club, which unites teachers across the region in pursuit of educational excellence and community building. Featured San Diego Unified Panelist Mick Rabin, Resource Counselor, Youth Advocacy Dept.
