Through April 14 -- Student Art Exhibit 2010, all day through April 14,
Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal St, (92103). Hundreds of new
art pieces created by district students will be on display in the Ed Center
second floor hallways and viewable from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact: Martha

* 6 -- FIRST Robotics Competition, 8 a.m., San Diego Sports Arena, 3500
Sports Arena Blvd. (92110). It's FIRST time of year, with the one of the
biggest high school student robotics competitions anywhere is already under
way at the Sports Arena -- the FIRST San Diego Regional Robotics
Competition. Open to the entire family, the free event includes robotics
teams from all over the nation competing against our local favorites, Kearny
CTA, High Tech High, La Jolla, Madison, Mira Mesa and Preuss UCSD high
schools. San Diego Unified's students are participating as part of their
Career Technical Education or Regional Occupational Program experience.
Qualifying matches began today, with finals beginning around noon on
tomorrow. Admission is free, but you'll need safety goggles to move about

6, 11-13 -- SCPA "Working" -- Grand Theater, San Diego School of Creative
and Performing Arts, 2425 Dusk Drive (92139). A Musical by Stephen Schwartz
and Nina Faso et al based on the play by Studs Terkel, Directed by Mark
Stevens. It runs at 7 p.m. March 4, 5, 11, 12 and at 2 p.m. March 6 and 13

6 -- San Diego City-County Partnership Honor Choir, 7 p.m., Point Loma

San Diego County's cutting-edge high-tech companies will show how they
support local K-12 students with hands-on demonstrations and experts.

* 12 -- Dinner Honoring David Wells and Benefiting Pt. Loma High Baseball
Program, 6 p.m., Peckham Estate, 2905 Nichols St. (92106). "A Night in
Tuscany" is the theme as the Pt. Loma High community salutes alum David
Wells, who after graduating went on to an outstanding career as a pitcher in
Major League Baseball. Proceeds go to the Pointer baseball program. Tickets:

* 12 -- Fifth Annual Mariachi Conference, 6:30 p.m., Balboa Theater, 868
Fourth Ave. (92101). Although headlined by Javier Rodriguez, this show
highlights students of the genre. The conference's mission is to expand
students' skills and knowledge specific to mariachi music by providing them

Diego's largest celebration of science returns to offer thousands of
