Cesar Chavez's Oldest Living Relative Marks Her 100th Birthday With Students
at Carson Elementary

WHAT: Carson Elementary 100th Day of School Celebration With Special Guest

DETAILS: Dolores Merino, first cousin of Cesar Chavez, will be at her
granddaughter's school to celebrate her 100th birthday with the students.
When she was a child, Dolores lived with Chavez on the family's ranch in
Arizona. Her granddaughter, Mitzi Merino, is principal of Carson Elementary
School. Students are planning a party for the senior Mrs. Merino in the
auditorium and she will also visit a classroom.
