26 -- Horton Elementary Learning Grove, noon to 3 p.m., Horton Elementary
School, 5050 Guymon St. (92102). The Horton Community will be celebrating
and exciting day of wellness featuring a farmer¹s market, cooking
demonstrations, garden tours, fun fitness activities, hands-on planting and
raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Open to the public. Contact:

* 28 -- Cabrillo Elementary 105th Anniversary Mural Dedication, 8 a.m.,
Cabrillo Elementary School, Cabrillo Elementary School, 3120 Talbot Street,
San Diego, CA 92106. A mural with an undersea theme, with sea life and a
treasure chest, evoking thoughts of buried treasure and early mariners, like
Juan Cabrillo will be dedicated to celebrate the school's 105th year. Lisa
Esmael and Dianne Abbott, a parent and grandparent of two boys at Cabrillo,
painted the mural. Parents and community members donated all labor and
materials for our mural, with the paint donated by San Diego-based Frazee
Paints, as the Frazee family is alumnus of Cabrillo Elementary.

* 28 -- Patrick Henry Cluster Concert, 6:30 p.m., Patrick Henry High Gym,
6702 Wandermere Dr. (92120). Orchestra students from Dailard, Foster, Gage,
Green, Hearst and Marvin elementary schools, Lewis and Pershing middle
schools, and Patrick Henry High School will gather for a concert. Contact:

30 -- Community Leaders Celebration, sponsored by the Administrators
Association of San Diego, 7:30 a.m., Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100
Normal St. (92103). Annual address to members of the district's

30 -- Road to College Assembly, 6 p.m., Lewis Middle School, 5170 Greenbrier
Ave. (92120). Parents and students are invited to this workshop where
experts will talk about all the things students will need to get to college;

31 -- County Academic League Telecast, Clairemont vs. Pt. Loma, 7 p.m., ITV
(Cable 16). The annual competition between schools is heating up with the
first rounds coming to a close. Tune in for your favorite schools. For more

1 -- Masons of California Scholarship Fund News Conference, 10 a.m., Taft
Middle School, 9191 Grammercy Drive (92123). The Masons of California will
be at Taft to announce that they will be funding $49,000 in scholarships to
deserving students in the San Diego Unified School District. Contact: Terry

4 -- Crawford High Cluster Committee Meeting, 6 p.m., Rolando Park
Elementary School, 6620 Marlowe Dr. (92115). Discussion and community

Tuesday: Powwow Workshop Soaring Eagles, 6 p.m. Ballard Parent Center, 2375
Congress Ave. (92110). Enjoy free potluck supper and practice for Soaring
Eagles student dance troupe, and pitch in to help the children learn
history, heritage and performance lessons. Part of Parent Outreach's

Wednesday: Adams Avenue Farmers Market, 3- 7 p.m., Adams Elementary School

to Adams Elementary for fieldtrips and to maintain the school garden.
