'Salute to Excellence' to Honor Top One Percent of San Diego Unified High School Grads

WHAT: San Diego Unified recognizes high school seniors ranked in the top one percent of their high school's Class of 2024, with a GPA of 4.0 or higher. Honorees are joined by their families, as well as principals and administrators, and Board President Shana Hazan, and Superintendent Dr. Lamont Jackson will give opening remarks. Dr. Morgan Appel, Assistant Dean of Education and Community Outreach at UC San Diego, will serve as Master of Ceremonies and present the honored students.

WHERE: Wilson Middle School Multipurpose Room, 3838 Orange Ave, San Diego, CA 92105
VISUALS: Presentation of Colors, Hoover High School Army JROTC; Pledge of Allegiance by Kayla Nguyen, University City High School
BACKGROUND: This annual event brings students together from all San Diego Unified high schools, where they receive a certificate and a medal marking their achievement. Each school honors the top one percent of its graduating seniors based on the number of students in their senior class.

PARKING: Free parking will be provided at the Wilson Middle School parking structure. The entrance to the structure is located off El Cajon Blvd, adjacent to 3373 El Cajon Blvd.
